Zara,

Did your baby have extra hydrocortisone by injection (needle into muscle) when she had her episode of high fever and vomiting? It sounds like she needed it. The continuous vomiting can be due to insufficient cortisol.

Florinef or extra salt may be slightly less important during a time of crisis but extra hydrocortisone is absolutely necessary. Just because your daughter’s electrolyte levels were ok, even though she was vomiting so much at that time, doesn’t mean she isn’t a salt waster any more. She obviously was compensating enough with the Florinef and salt she already had on board.

Does she have regular Plasma Renin levels done? Have they ever been high?
