Paul ShawHi
Hope you are all well - I havent needed to post on her for quite a few years now.
My son is 6 years old and has Congenital Adrenal Hypoplasia - he hasnt needed to go into hospital for nearly 5 years as he is generally in good health and where possible, we prefer to manage any illness at home rather than scare him and take him to hospital. However, today he has vommitted 5 times and hasnt kept anything down at all - we have been double dosing him all day and giving him extra cortisol after he has been sick. The problem is that he is not even keeping fluids down and I am worried he will become de-hydrated.
It is 7pm in the evening here in the UK and he is starting to get tired and wants to go to sleep. He is running a temperature of 38.3 and is complaining of stomach cramps (which should be no surprise if he has a stomach bug). I know that if I phoned the hospital, they would tell us to go in, but this is scaring my son and I only want to do that if I thought it was the only option.
Whats your thoughts - should we be able to manage stomach bugs and temperatures at home?
Thanks
Paul
