My daughter is in the process of appling for ssi.  She has a son that has swcah, and her daughter was just diagnoised with lch (which effects 1 in 250,000).  The people at the cancer unit adviced her to apply for ssi for both of her children.  Because some children do very well and others do not.  It’s not always about being disabled. Sometimes it’s about being able to stay home with your children and taking care of there needs.  (depends on the child in need)  They did say that with 2 children, that ssi should not be denied.  Hope everything goes well for you.
