There is a book called Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom by Christiane Northrup, M.D. (I have the revised and updated edition) As well as this being a great source for a research paper I happen to be writing (back to college) it has also been a great source of information over the past few years that I have owned the now tattered copy.
I have been looking specifically at the chapters on ovarian cancer and on menopause however both deal with the same problem as PCOS and even CAH in women.... there are issues/problems with the female hormones.
What struck me as an "AHA!" was from her section on menopause.

Adrenal Function: What Every Woman Should Know.
If your adrenals are depleted, you are much more likely to
suffer from fatigue and menopausal symptoms. .... Adrenal
dysfunction is also associated with symptoms such as foggy
thinking, insomnia, hypoglycemia, recurrent infections,
depression, poor memory, headaches, and cravings for sweets.
(page 525 of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom )

Cortisol in the right amounts enhances your body’s natural resistance and endurance. It:

-- Stimulates your liver to convert amino acids into
glucose, a primary fuel fuel for energy production
-- Counters allergies and inflammation.

So I read your info about symptoms and thought **maybe** this book would help. The parts I entered above are just a small sampling of Dr. Northrups book. Like anything you may need to pick and choose what works for you or what doesn’t. While I like much of what she says I don’t buy everything. Still, it’s worth mentioning.
