To Brayden’s mom

Thanks so much for responding. I’ll definately look for that book. What you posted confirms some things I’ve been thinking; however, there is some conflicting information that confuses me. Anyone with allergies has an overactive immune system; my daughter actually rarely gets sick, but when she does, it can be bad. Prednisone (a form of cortisol) is what they gave her when she first broke out in hives to help get it under control. Of course, that was in high doses, and they weaned her off it after 2 months. So the prednisone calmed down her immune system to keep it from overreacting and causing allergic reactions. So I don’t understand how it can do that and also enhance resistance to recurrent infections. Any thoughts?
