mine is 9 yrs old swcah. I have never woke him up for a dose. He takes 3 x a day. 7am, 2 pm & 8 pm.  We have never had a problem. Growth & levels have been great. On the weekend if he sleeps late we just go with the 6 hr apart schedule & adjust the times.
