I haven’t really been able to go through all of these posts and I skimmed on Aimee’s but understood her point.  And, anon, I’m really not sure how you couldn’t.  While it is very disconcerting that these pictures are being displayed for everyone to see putting in a simple search about CAH, the point is that there is a human being behind these pictures.  I haven’t seen them but I’m assuming these people are children!  I know how Ian and Aimee and others have posted how this has affected them mentally and emotionally and when I put myself in their shoes I can see why!!!!!!!  I imagine if I had let the drs do that to either of my daughters and then they found out about it.  They would feel violated!!!  And they would have right to be because they were!  I understand that drawings are not the same things as actual photographs but with the technology we have today, we do not need to subject our children to being "models" of ambiguous genitalia and victims of the medical community.

I also want to say thank to all of you with CAH that are sharing with us parents.  I know that I have personally spoken with Aimee and Ian.  It is not easy for them to share with us their experiences but they are doing it because they want us to learn from what they have and are going through.  So THANK YOU!!!!!  I know you have all made me think about the deeper impact of the decisions we make with our girls.

Blessings to all,

Tonia
