Dear Laura,

I have this thyroid condition- take synthroid, wish any endo would of really brought it up a longtime ago. Had the endocrine fellow- the higher up med student that is attached to your case after the years of getting pawed by the groups, two, and one on one mention the symptoms but never said exactly what it was. Borderline chronic thyroditis - they don’t treat unless it stays in hypothyrodism....ehh meanwhilethe patient meanwhilethe patient hyperthyroid- euthyroid- hypothyroid .....bounce..bounce... bounce.

I looked up this and hives well because I don’t want no kid with CAH to go through the same crap that I did ..It’s my guess that some of us that feel a certain way isn’t because of the CAH - the adrenal gland ....the innocent adrenal gland takes it cortisone and is good but the thyroid is evil really really evil I also think it has some connect to the lunar cycle- that’s a little out there but it just does.

I’ve very found of my ENDO- very smart man, in his prime, went to top notch medical schools, is nice, means well, is interested in CAH, is very quiet, has a great accent, will-I think consider thinking out of the box.  Laughs - I am very funny, Does take it when I get on going about being a lab rat for the U of Mich and a genital exam doll for students, Had the most absolute most brillant response and tone when mention...ummm OK was yelling - in his big important office - that my ambiguous external genitals were really not a problem to me @ the time ...... I adore this man and would have no trouble killing someone that threatened his or any other ENDO’S life even the ones that are chumps-  protect the Endos ...really not enough of em around Soooo with all that said ....their profession in my little mind : ) needs to step up to the plate with some things or I’m wrong : P and they are gaining more knowledge each year about the connection to things like with this http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/hives.htm and the reason it wasn’t mention before because it wasn’t in the brew of medical knowledge.

I think everyone should be tested much, much early for thyroid antibodies or whatever the mombo jumbo is. I read on some clinicial endocrine web site that the time to test for hashimoto’s chronic thyroditis is at 35 love em but gosh no this needsto be done much soon it’s border line andyou are told to go to a shrink - shrink goes nope your mind is fine. i think you have a thyroid condition and back and forth this goes blah blah untill the beans are spilled - the antibodies destroy enough of the thyroid to keep it hypo and you get the script for synthyroid.

Anyway, I was like lookie, lookie- I knew that a conection of hives would pop up to this thyroid condition(immune system attacking the thyroid- it’s coomon). I have some hives occassionally along with a touch of asthma along with the celiac sprue my idiot immune system there attacks any gluten that I may consume and the villi lay flat messing with absorbsion of nutrients. The only consulation with that is that the Gastro Doc is smoking hot - So I like going to see him- he’s pretty to look at : )

I’m silly BUT my long winded point is that if she has this stuff then there might be something else there also because I think I read that certain conditions run together.

Snowing in Ohio?

All this best
