To debbie and aimmeeYwt I was a keeper as well and striker for the Sunday team asI was taller then the other kids and faster. So I was used as a keeper due to my height and a striker due to my speed. The plan was to kick it over the top and Ian will run past them all and score. Got some good memories of the cubs etc and camping with mates. Those memories stay forever. Even at 28 I still think what some of them may be up to. Life is precious and I’ve got to thank my parents that they let me get on with life as best I could. Just let go Debbi he will be fine. The only regret was I was bullied by the older kids cos of my height. But I grew up in the 80’s when it was shameful to have this condition and even the Doctors didn’t give the support needed.
And yep I got drunk as well typical teen and my Mums response when I got home.
"There’s the bucket enjoy the hangover" And boy was my head sore the next day.
Only got drunk once of Gin never again that was an evil hangover. All part of growing up and keeping up with your mates.
Take care
Ian
