LauraNot that you are all sitting at the edge of your seats waiting to hear my chicken pox soap opera but, I thought I would just continue to post so if anyone else in the future looks up chicken Pox they can see how one CAH patient dealt with them.
So this is what, day 6. My daughter still has a low grade fever but is doing really really well. More developed on her face last night at the fever popped back up. We have not had to stress dose since the fever has been so low. Thank God. We just give her Motrin or Tylenol and it comes down. Although sometimes I wonder if we should let the low grade fever do what it is meant to do, fight off the pox. But the CAH mom in me wants to stomp out that fever asap without looking back. It really has had no characteristics of raising above the 99.5 degree mark. She is about at 40 pox, nothing massive. They are oozey like the ones I have seen full blown. She has about 5 that are nasty but that is it. All and all we are thankful she had the vaccine so it wasn’t as massive as a regular dose of chicken pox can be. All that reads this and are worried about their own, here is one case that thus far, thanks be to God, she is doing pretty good with them. By the way to mention it again, my daughter is a salt waster and is 8 years old.
Please please pray for my daughter’s little friend Devan. Devan is in her class and has been hospitalized with the pox. He has Juvenile Arthritis. (sound right?) With all his meds. he is on it lowers his immune system drastically dangerously. He was admitted last week to help him fight off this pox. They give him like an anit viral drug. I talked to his mom yesterday and they feared he would have to return because he is doing so bad off. They released him Thurs. night thinking they licked it. He was vomitting last night and SO tired. I am worried about him. Boy it sure put CAH into perspective for me. You think you have it bad until you hear someone elses story. He is a brave little kid. It is funny my daughter has really taken to him. PLEASE pray for him. Thanks everyone!
