My mom had the measles while pregnant with me. I have two older brothers that got them at the same time. I will call her today and ask how she got my brothers and herself through them. At the time her family doctor was out of town. The doctor on call suggested that if my was in the "wrong" trimester, I would have been born with many birth defects, and possibly mentally retarded to boot. He said that she could always abort me. My mom got a second opinion, and they said I would be fine. Thank God she never aborted me! I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to give her not only me (her favorite child- wink), but her grandaughter she loves so much. Later she read that I was a miracle because the second opinion was incorrect. She was in the most dangerous trimester, but by God’s grace, I came out healthy and normal. (of course my evil brothers say, Yeah Laura REEEAL normal you are) Ah brothers. Anyway. I will call her today and find out. Take one day at a time. If need be, keep him out of school today. Why send him if all they will do is party today. Weigh your options. Will you be freaking out after sending him today, or have peace by keeping him home? Did he get his vaccination for Measles? If not, contact your pediatrician and ask them what to look for, what to do in case he does get them. Take one day at a time, and just prepare yourself. It is out of your hands anyway. I will keep him in my prayers. Keep us updated and I will get back to you after I talk with my mom this afternoon. God bless.Laura
