11 Beta is rare here in America. It happens more often in Iran, Turkey, and Morocco. Ashkenazi Jews are the primary carriers. My Dr. was shocked when he read the blood work on my son and found he was 11 Beta. My husband and I don’t know where in our bloodline 11 Beta came from! If your child was tested and has CAH, it should have shown up. 11 Beta makes excess male hormone. My son at the age of 11 months has pubic hair and is the size of a two year old. He will grow fast and be larger than most children. In a few years, he will slow down and eventually not grow at all. My husband is six foot three. If my son makes five feet, I will be amazed. That is how much 11 Beta can stunt a child’s growth. 11 Beta is rare and if you feel uncomfortable about your child, you need to talk to your doctor. If it is not treated, your child will just stop growing.
