First of all, I’m pretty sure ours were older than two when we first put the bracelet on them. But the way I did it was to get a cheaper bracelet (I used a leather strip) and put it on their wrist and told them that if they left it on, without messing with it for a month, we’d buy them a really nice one. Then we showed them the picture from the brochure (the pictures always look cool, especially to a litle kid). Every day we’d check the temporary bracelet to see if it was okay, and remind them of the special bracelet they’d get if they took care of the temporary one.

By the end of the month they’d accepted wearing the bracelet as normal, and didn’t mess with it. We got them Medicalert bracelets and other than the occasional accidents, haven’t had any problems with them.
