SusanPHi,
My daughter is 14 (we also live in Central Jersey) and has had to pick her sports based on CAH. She played travel soccer for 7 years, but had to move to goalkeeper for the last 2. She definately would tire sooner than the other girls and if it was a hot day she could overheat. We had two instances of her overheating where she needed a shot of solu-cortef. We try to go with just the gatorade and she knows her body now and can usually take a break before overheating. I do not believe the study that they need no extra cortef. Many adults on this board mention taking extra for strenuous hikes, etc. CARES listed some research where kids rode stationary bikes. This in no way compares to a competetive sports enviromnent. Our endo has us do the extra gatorade and as a last resort more cortef. She now plays volleyball and fencing (which is actually hot for her due to gear). Basketball was the hardest for her with so much running. Sounds like your daughter is in excellent shape with a high tolerance for exercise. Best of luck.
