The dex hasn’t been too bad.  I have gained extra weight.  I am 22 wks preg. and have gained about 25lbs and with my son I had gained about 10 at this point.  Also before I got preg. this time I needed to lose some weight, so the extra weight has been difficult.  It makes it harder to do things.  Also I started swelling when I was about 15 wks due to the dex.  Mainly my legs and feet, but steroids make you retain water.  My sugar has also been a little high, not bad but I try to watch my diet, and I have stretch marks this time around.  I have read that steroids make your skin thin and make you more prone to stretch marks; I didn’t get any with my son, but I have gained more this time too.  Don’t let all this depress you because I really am fine.  I mean it hasn’t been as enjoyable as my first pregnancy, but it hasn’t been horrible either, and I know that if the dex will help prevent the baby (Elaina) from having complications it is worth it.  I would take it again.  Unfortunatly I haven’t had the energy some women have talked about from the dex, but I’m not a high energy person anyway.  Best of luck with trying for another baby.  He or she will be great.
