SonyaHey Laura,
Our endo almost never tells us to give a shot unless under extreme circumstances. And I don’t think she considers flu symptoms necessarily extreme unless we, the parents, definitely think so. she tends to have us use our judgment. (which smoetimes bothers me) She’s said on more than one occassion that we’d know when we needed it. We have given Erik the shot before but that’s because he was vomiting at medicine time and I freaked out. I’m trying to consider what I would do with my daughter and then if he seems far worse than that, give him a shot. It did cross my mind yesterday, which is why we called the endo, but he was acting really sick I thought, versus lethargic. I just don’t want to over do the shot. But apparently the stress dosing made him feel really good today because what’s normally a 3 hour nap was a 1 hour nap :) You’re right about the gatorade, he’s been officially cut off and is back to water and a little milk and he’s snacked all day because I didn’t want to risk a big meal on him. And for diaper rash we always use desitin and powder for both kids and have never had a problem. So far so good. And wouldn’t it figure that now I have a fever. It’s not too bad yet and hopefully I won’t get what Erik had :) Thanks so much for all the prayers. They’re definitely a help and appreciated.
