Baby-sitting

I am watching a family that has two girls. One is in second grade the other is 4. The one that is fours acts sometimes that she is going on one. She is real whiny when she talks and she puts things in her mouth still. I am not saying that my kids are perfect because no body is. But, the thing is that this morning her mom came and said that she is coughing and has a runny nose. well she said that she has tried to give her medicine and she would not take it. But i was like ok who is the parent here and who is the boss. And I said well you better take your meds because you wont get any better if you dont and she just looked at me like what ever. Oh and then I am so sorry if I sound like an old bag. I am just upset as to how children rule there parents and make all there decisions. and I am sorry if i offended anyone. But I told her to take her shoes off and she went to her mom and said that i dont want to take my shoes off and her mom said well you can leave them on if you want to. Well when her mom left i told her to take them off. But my thing is that when i asked about her medicine and her mom told me that she wont take it i was like ok you obviuoulsy do not understand the importance of just a cold that could be a very dangerous thing for my child who has swcah duh. and when i first took the girls i had told look this is what has to happen if your girls are sick and the importance of what coudl happen and i told her that if i can prevent it that is what i plan to do but i can not shelter him either which i wish i could but that it is very important that they not be here when they are sick. But my husband gave her tylenol and she took it just fine. I am so sorry that I have blabbed on and on I am just so mad that a 4 year old rules the roost and that her mom has no idea how important this is to my child. I am asking you guys to give me advice on how to deal with this better and to explain this to the mom better. I am again sorry if i have offended anyone. Thanks for letting me vent.
