first solu-cortef shot
Jan. 13th, 2006   12:29pm

We just had a long night at ER and came back this morning.

My 2 and 1/2 yr daughter with CAH was doing fine last night until 8:30pm.  By the time we gave her bedtime meds and milk, she started vomitting suddenly .  We waited 10 minites and gave her the meds again but she vomitted again. We were very nervous and decided to give her the shot. Thank God, both my husband and I were at home. It was the first time we gave the shot. I really doubt if I could give the shot by myself.  Even after the shot, she vomitted 3 more times in about half hour and looked listless.  We called her endo and headed to ER.  By the time we arrived at ER,  she was back to herself. Even it was already 10:30pm, she was very alert and active.  We waited about an hour before they put on IV and had the blood test done. Everything was fine. The doctor said she was a little bit dehydrated when she came in.  After IV, we were sent home about 3am this morning.  I think the shot really helped to prevent crisis and we did the right thing to bring her to ER to have IV.  Although she is doing much better this morning, our eyes are widely opened on her.

Just want to share my experience with you and please keep us in your prayer.

Thanks.
