WOW what a great response. I hope there are more too.

Carol, I would love to see more research on this. With what you said I totally agree this must be just the tip of the iceburg. Would lOVE to see more research. So how would that work with my daughter when she had a week of increased Cortef (stress dosed for an illness) and she comes down from that stress dose and she is an emotional wreck. Especially as a toddler it was pure hell to watch. From lashing out to sobbing in my arms. Is that connected to the adrenaline? Or is that something completely different? Where does that play in? Because if it does play into the adrenaline aspect, wow, that is another tip of that iceburg. I am going to research those articles you suggested. You know I want to know this about the stress issues so I can help make the right choices for my daughter. (ie: choosing the right teachers) and I don’t want to coddle her and pave her life perfect. Life isn’t perfect as we all well know. And sheltering her from situations isn’t going to help her grow into a strong adult. BUT if she does have stress issues that is far beyond her control in stressful situations, then why put her in them? I want to be able to say to her principal, her CAH condition does not allow her to handle stress easily, therefore I would like her to be put in this classroom or this one. Now the day to day stress like not getting what she wants, well she will have to deal with that. (smile) But the major stress factors, I would like to curb AFTER I see how she handles them. Keeping her from stress in EVERYTHING is not healthy. But again, curbing what I find she can’t handle is another thing.

Thanks so much everyone for your input. This really has me thinking.
