SaraI think this question offends me because as a mother of a daughter with CAH, I would hate for her to think of herself in terms of her genitals. There is so much more involved with CAH than the genitals. My daughter will never be identified by her condition or her physical deformations, which I remind you have been corrected. When she gets older, I will make sure she is aware of her condition and her medications but in no way will this define who she is. I hope she never hears that she is "different" than her friends because of what she was born with. I think that some times people on this board get carried away with their child having CAH and seems to think that this defines who their child is. CAH is a disorder of the adrenal glands, not the genitals. So please, next time you have a question or want to research CAH, focus on the real problem, being the adrenal glands.
God knew what he was doing when he created her and this disorder will only make her stronger. You may say that I’m looking through rose colored glasses, but there have been children who have had a lot worse to deal with in life. I consider her one of the lucky ones.
