ToniaJanell,
I’m so glad to hear that Gabe is feeling better! I’m also glad that you found this board to help support you and help you learn. Danny’s board has literally saved my daughters lives! I am eternally grateful!
We have 2 daughters with ssw cah. They are 7 & 9. We learn something new with every illness and with every day. Even when they’re not sick we’re learning new things about them whether it has to do with CAH or not. I can tell you that it is so much easier that they now know how they are feeling, can put words to it and know what makes them feel better. There have been several times that they have asked for the shot or say, it’s time to go to the hospital. It’s amazing! But we had to teach them to listen to those feelings they were having and how to express it.
I would give anything for my girls not to have CAH but I would also give anything for them never to have a bad day, get sick or feel bad. That’s just the mom in me. But I think in many ways CAH and the things they have gone through, have taught them how to be strong, independent, compassionate, caring and resilient people.
Blessings to you! If you ever have a question, I hope you will ask it! :)
