re: stress & carriers

Dilini, my mom did the same thing you are doing. For fear of gaining more weight she will not seek treatment because the antidepressants are known to have that side effect...just so you know I think Effexor has the opposite effect..I’m not sure I just heard of people losing weight on it. Anyway because my mother cannot handle stress at all (to top it off she has a stressful job) but because she cannot handle stress and is depressed she has pulled away from the world and cannot function well without being in her own element.

If only she could see that maybe 10 lbs is worth having her life back again. So please rethink this. Your quality of life will effect the quality of your child’s life. Especially if you have attempted to commit suicide. I have one friend noncah that I worked with for a few years. She was depressed off an on...maybe bi-polar, not sure. Anyway I begged her to go to the mental health clinic to get help. We were shocked to see in the newspaper that she has stabbed her boyfriend. If she had taken my advice she may not be where she is now. She is not a bad person, sheis a broken soul.

In the past I have posted concerning carriers and depress/anxiety. There is a study concerning this in one of the cares newsletters. Please read it. There is a reason why you feel like this and you can’t help it but perhaps medication can. Well I wish you and your child well.
