Danny CarltonIt would be good to avoid food that would weaken the immune system, like processed sugar, processed flour, etc. and focus on the parts that are healthy but often thrown away, Like the bran and germ. As for sugar, we used to get blackstrap molasses (which is much darker than sorgum, and has less of the sugar in it) it’s what’s left after they process as much of he sugar out that they can. Anyway, we’d mix one tablespoon in about two cups of water and it would make a great sipping drink for babies and toddlers. They love it. It’s loaded with nutrients. By the time they’re about 2 1/2 or 3 they loose the taste for it. which is about the time their dietary needs adjust to more solid food.
Cortef works by increasing the use of glucose (a simplistic explination that others could probably explain much better) so sugar becomes important in that too little might hamper the effectiveness of the Cortef, but too much seems to have a greater effect of the carbohydrate/insulin/hunger chain that is the core of how diets like Akins work. In other words, carbs make you hungrier than proteins and fats do, but proteins and fats can both be converted to needed sugar.
