re: sexual function in women

Hi,

I had vaginoplasty and clitoral reduction surgery at age 8.  I’m 23 now.

I’m sexually active and don’t have problems achieving orgasm.  Intercourse and other sexual activity is very comfortable.

I think I probably have some loss of sensation due to the surgery, but I’m very happy with the way things turned out and I’m glad that I had the surgery.

I do not have problems with incontinence or stenosis, and did not require dilation or additional surgery.

With regard to cosmesis concerns, it’s immediately clear to gynecologists that I’ve had genital surgery but the physicians I’ve seen have indicated that the appearance now isn’t abnormal (my clitoris is still on the large side but within the "normal" range).

I don’t feel different or self conscious because I had surgery and it was never an issue when I was dating (I recently married).
