Liz, the pump is another method of delivering the hydrocortisone via a pump used for diabetics which is adapted to slowly infuse the hydro at very specific amounts, at rates especially worked out to mimic the circadian rhythm. The pump is about the size of a pager and is carried in the pocket or on the belt and the hydro is pumped from it through a fine tube and a cannula which is inserted into the stomach. It is a very clever method as it can give such small amounts which you cannot do whilst taking tablets, so therefore you can achieve the levels you need but this has to be very carefully worked out by a doctor. Professor Hindmarsh in London came up with this method as my son was metabolising his tablets very quickly and he was not absorbing them properly. Within hours his levels were brought to normal and have stayed there. His health has improved, he has grown well, and his weight is perfect. I did try to contact Kelly Light about sharing our story but she never replied to any of my emails, except for the initial ones where I told her about it, which to be honest I found very strange.
