I wish I had some words of wisdom for you, but I don’t. I want you to know that reading your post though brought me comfort which some may think odd. I am a single Mother and Michael has SWCAH. I am the sole provider for him, his sister and my 80 year old mother that lives with us. I make $12.50 an hour working for a telephone answering service and my mom gets social security. We barely get by, the last thing I want to do is miss work because it actually means less food for us each month. I have come home almost everyday from work the last month in tears. I have missed a lot of work because Michael has been sick a lot this year. I have no one to help and have to be there to take care of him as my mom is elderly and not that well herself. I know my boss and manager would like to get rid of me for missing work. I finally asked them if them in regards to my attendance and they said they realized they cannot fire me do to missing work regarding my son’s illness or my mothers due to the state laws in Oregon. GEE ! That made me feel great. I hang my head every time I go into work after missing and I know they are all talking about me, some other employees are even kind enough to let me know. Anyway I just do my best and that is enough, some days I think I might loose it but he is more important to me than a job and if they do fire me I will just have to find another employer to bless with our unique and special life style.......lol.....LUCKY THEM!!  Anyway the only thing I can say is hang in there and just remember how lucky you are to have you special little person in your life. Job’s can come and go, but my son won’t, he is a gift I plan on putting first in my life. I know this does not help, but at least you are not alone.

P.S. I came home from work tonight and the new book on CAH was in my mail box, I am going to read it with Michael a little each night. It gives me comfort to read it and to see post on here because even if the idiots at work don’t understand CAH and what is is like for our family or Michael........at least I know there are others out there that do!!!!  God Bless you all and thank you!
