I really find it interesting that so many of the swcah girls that are talked about on this post are really into "girl" things. My daughter, 5 years old SWCAH, NEVER liked to play with dolls or anything you normally associate with little girls. She has always preferred any kind of vehicle, action figures, etc., anything that little boys like to play with. She prefers playing with the boys on the playground rather than the girls. Most of the girls don’t want to play "power rangers!"  When we go down the aisle at Wal-Mart with the barbie stuff, she is rushing me to get to the aisle with the "super heroes" as she calls them. She does like cute clothes and her hair fixed with cute barrettes or bows, but that is about it. I remember going to a CARES foundation conference when she was a baby and listening to them talk about how SWCAH little girls typically choose boys toys. Being a first time mom, I was thinking in the back of my mind, that I will really encourage  her to play with girl stuff. Boy, that didn’t last long....Ha! I soon found out that kids have a mind of their own and I wasn’t going to change that. She likes what she likes and that makes her the special person that she is. And it is not because she is not managed well with her medications, that is for sure. So, yes I definitely believe that CAH plays a part in the choices they make. But, I would not take my daughter any other way! I had to let go of alot of the fantasies that I had of a little girl playing dress up and playing with her baby doll.  I respect the choices that my daughter makes and I won’t try to change that. That is who she is and she is a beautiful, smart, funny little girl just the way she is!
