i don’t know anything about salt pills but my sons doctors prescribe in a liquid sodium for him to take 3 times a day so you might want to check with his endro about that.  but also if his sodium level is alright when they take his electrolytes then he is getting enough sodium in his diet.  That is all I can think of to tell you hope it helps.
