In my daughter’s school that would not be an option.  They say it is illegal for her to bring her meds to school because is somone else got ahold of her meds and took it the school could be sued.  So her meds stay in the nurses office all locked up until 12 noon when she needs to take it.  Then they unlock the cabinet and bring it out and she takes it and then it goes back in the cabinet.  She can’t even bring some in her backpack if she is going to a friend’s house after school, I have to drive to school to hand it to her so she can put it in her pocket to take to her friend’s house.
