My grandson who is 9yrs old SWCAH broke his wrist last year at school during recess. We did have to give him the injection but everything went well fter that. He had to wear a cast for 6 wks.  He healed just fine. The ortho did take x-rays inbetween the six wks to make sure everything was healing ok. Never had a problem with his wrist since!
