re: Why CAH is a good thing

The best thing I can think of about my son having CAH has to be the prayers. SO many people have prayed for my son....when he was in the PICU for 4 days after it was discovered that he had CAH....during his many illnesses....during his blood draws...this child has been COVERED in prayer!!  Family prays for him....our church (and others) prays for him...his brothers and sisters pray for him....even complete STRANGERS have prayed for him!!!  Two instances that come to mind are one time that I was in a store with Brayden, and a woman that I had never seen before smiled at me, and him. She then noticed his bracelet and said "Aww..how cute, he has a bracelet"...then, looking at it she noticed it was a medic alert bracelet...to which she looked into my eyes, then laid her hand on my child and closed her eyes and prayed silently for him. Another time was just today. I was at the hospital, where my childrens pediatricians office is located. I was there with my oldest son, 6 years old, who was there to get his two weekly allergy shots. He also wears a medic alert bracelet because he has a very severe allergy to peanuts. Anyway, we were waiting to get in to use the bathroom, when to woman began talking to my son. Tanner doesn’t know a stranger, so he was more than happy to tell the women that he was allergic to peanuts, and that he could die if he ate any. He couldnt leave his brother out, so he said "and my baby brother has Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia!)...which sounded more like "Agenital Drenal Hypapasia"...the woman asked what it was and I explained a little bit of the disorder. One of the women said "bless your heart, you certainly have your hands full"...and they  both said they would pray for my boys, AND for mama. They wrapped me and Tanner both in a warm, loving hug...and went on their way. Not only did they wrap us up in a hug, but a PRAYER too I’m sure.  It’s so nice to know that people are praying for us....I KNOW prayer makes a difference...I’ve seen it with my own eyes. And felt it in my own heart. And I thank God that He has heard these prayers, and answered, and kept my children safe.

So....the best thing about CAH is that people have prayed for us.  And God has been there with us, every step of the way.
