my daughter and i have been on this message board sence my grandaughter alexandra was born in 2000. She did really well on her meds for the first 5 years and then she ended up in the hospital with high blood pressure. sence that time it seems her cortef is not working well. for the last 8 months or so the dr. has been doing blood tests every month,uping her cortef each time. about 2 months ago they did a dex suppersion test on her, it brought her level’s down to 130. and he then had her start taking a 5 mg tab in the morning a 5 mg tab in the after noon, and a 5 and a half mg tablet at nite. it seems like so much cortef for her. she has started to develope, she is growing pubic hair, has body odor ect. they did another blood test a month ago and they called me today and said to raise her cortef to 5 and a half mg morning, afternoon, and nite. her level was 2058. I am so worried about my grandaughter, and it seems like these dr.s do not know what is going on. could her blood pressure meds make the cortef not as effective? any help would be appericiated danny.
