Hi Amimee, My name’s Amanda. I was born with SWCAH. I am 25 yrs old. I stopped going to the endo when I was 18 and could no longer go to the pediatric endo specialist whom I had been seeing since day one. Now I have my OB/GYN do the bloodwork and prescribe my cortisone. You figure they know enough about hormones. I pretty much adjust my own dose according to how I feel. If I get the flu, I will take an extra dose of cortisone, depending. The endocinology dept at the University of Pennsylvania was a major pain in the A** so I just said forget it.

Like Georgia mentioned above, some of the endo’s I have visited ask too many unnecessary questions and treated me like a rarity so I rely on the OB I’ve had since 15 to take care of me. Otherwise, I take care of myself. Hope you are well. If you ever wanna talk, my email is pitbullbugs@comcast.net
