Oh hi Megan,Melissa FraggleSorry this reply is taken so long, the board topics move so fast here that I lost track of everything. And after I wrote this reply, it was still 3 pages back with the rest of the thread, so I reposted it as a new subject.
My endocrinologist’s appointment took place on March 1. He seemed a bit more pleasant than average for the specialists I’ve seen lately. My GP originally only specified checking for Addison’s/adrenal insufficiency, but after examining me and taking a family history he apparently upgraded that to include testing for CAH. Lots of similar sounding problems run on my mother’s side of the family.
The bloodwork took place shortly afterwards. They first took 5 vials for a baseline measure and other stuff, then gave me an acth injection , then took 1 more vial after 30 minutes and 2 final vials after 60. And the list of tests to perform looked about 2 pages long. I should have asked them exactly what was in that injection, because it made me fall over a few minutes later and left me woozy for several hours. It didn’t make me feel any healthier or less dehydrated, or even nervous.
They said the results should be back after a week, so I’m hoping to hear from them maybe by friday.
Thanks :) Melissa
