Wow! and to Megan & Aimee ...

I’m a bit surprised at the number of responses to this question in such a short period of time ... there’s obviously something to it. I guess now comes the question: what do we do now?? Making people aware of what to watch for is important, but ultimately I’d like to work on PREVENTING my swCAH daughter from some (all?!) of these problems in her lifetime. Ideas, comments, suggestions???

Just as MEGAN was saying, the article I read said that low stomach acidity was a very much undiagnosed problem. People have "stomach troubles", and are prescribed ANTACIDS, which actually makes the problem worse!!! With very little stomach acid, the H. Pylori bacteria (and who knows what else) has a less hostile environment, and thrives!

AIMEE: you’ve brought something up that I’ve been trying to avoid ... a possible intolerance to wheat gluten!! I’ve been wondering if it might be bothering me (we eat quite a bit of bread/pasta) but I haven’t made the plunge yet! You’ve given me something to think about ..... and perhaps a "kick in the pants" ; ) !
