I got some preliminary results back from my acth test, and it looks like I probably don’t have CAH. My (afternoon) cortisol level went from a baseline of 14 upto 53.9 after an hour.

But I’m a little confused, because my aldosterone started at a baseline of 42 (rather high) and went upto 73 after an hour. And the educational materials I’ve found say that acth shouldn’t have much effect on your aldosterone level.

I figure that even though I probably don’t have CAH, perhaps someone here could explain the cortisol/aldosterone connection, because you seem very knowledgable about adrenals. Umm, thank you :)
