I don’t know where these new strains start or finish but I’m on the other side of the globe to the poster and in November 2005, I had and am still recovering from, a terrible chest infection/flu.

One of the first things my doctor asked was, had I recently been visiting a country where there is bird flu (Avian Virus) ? I hadn’t, but he did blood tests which revealed Mycoplasma Pneumoniae. I have since come across a few people who have had this same ’bug’  and it has hit them hard. These other people have recovered now, however I’ve still got quite a bad cough despite taking asthma preventers and relievers twice daily.

I guess it has really made me think quite a bit how we would fare if/when the Avian Virus hits. I know that I only have to be exposed to something for a very short time and I seem to get it and the rest of the family don’t get sick. Mostly I get the rarer things now, as I feel that all the vitamins/minerals/antioxidants I’m on seem to prevent the more mild/common things that are going around.

I think I’d be a gonna if bird flu hit.
