My son is 4 1/2 and he will be 5 next week. He has been on the same dose for almost 5 years. Which was 5mg tab of cortef. And he has been on Florinef which was 2 0.1mg twice a day now it is 0.1 tab a day. But my question is this, my son just ahd his blood work done and the endo called me and told me that they wanted him to have 2.5 mg a day of cortef. Now we were giving him 5mg a day. So i know that I am suppose to give him a half a tab three times a day. And i did ask about his counts which is something that I have never done because I am not that educated on this yet and I know horrible mom, but I asked and she told me that his 17 hyrdrolxaly cant spell either was up to 7,150 and that is should be about 4,000. SO that means that he is overs uppressed? I know I have no idea what I am talking about and I shoudl be doing better and asking questions which i am not good at but getting ther. they have always kind of intimidated me. But I am getting much better about asking. So I guess I just want to know what is over and undersuppressed mean? And will his change of dose help him? He is very small for his age weighing about 27 pounds and is about 3feet maybe. he has always been small as a baby. But I would love anybodies input!! Thanks in advance!!
