AmyMichelle,
My son who just turned two on March 1 is small as well. He is about 3o inches and 23lbs. (Most of his clothes are 18 month!) I don’t know why he is small. It might have to do with SWCAH or maybe because he was born 8 weeks early and has always been catching up. I suppose it could simply be genetics. I honestly don’t worry about his size too much anymore. As long as he continues to grow and not too quickly, I will be comfortable with his height. My son does not eat lots but he loves food only eats what he needs. My feeling is create healthy eating habits while he is young and this could possibly help down the road if weight threatens to be an issue. He is smaller than most of his 2 year peers but some are smaller than him!
My son does not talk a whole lot. He continues to develop his vocabulary and his speech is getting better everyday. I don’t think speech delay has anything to do with CAH. I do feel that all children have their own schedules and they will talk when they are ready.
You will always be your Daughters number one advocate until she can take care of herself. You are doing a wonderful job by educating yourself and asking questions. Continue working with her doctors and express your concerns. God gave us the "mothers instinct" for a reason and you should trust yours. No doctor is going to know your Daughter as well as you are! Keep up the great work.
Amy
