Chances are you can always get to a hospital...but hospital emergency staff do not always understand about adrenal crisis. We were sent home from our hospital once with a refusal to give the injection. Luckily we had a supply of our own & gave the solu cortef ourselves. I would advise, if farther from home than 1/2 hr carry the kit. I always have it in my car (glove box) just in case. I have also put instructions in with my auto insurance papers so that in case of accident emergency personnel would find kit.
