CarrieMy son is five, and we have had horrible experiences with lab work. I think it is probably your daughter’s age that makes it more difficult; however, there are people that can get it from children. I now only take my son to Children’s in Dallas for blood work. They have always gotten it the first stick. We drive three hours one way to use this lab, but I tried every lab around here and it was a nightmare. If I found someone that could get his blood the lab they sent it too would mess it up. I finally just gave up. Unfortunately I learned this too late. My son is now terrified. I am currently pregnant with a baby girl with SWCAH. I will not make the same mistake again. We will just go to Dallas. My son’s endo is also at Children’s, but we see him about every 6 months but have lab work every 3, so there are times when we don’t even see the doc. we just go to the lab, but it is worth it. I really feel for you and your daughter. I know how hard it is to watch them stick your baby. It makes me physically sick thinking about it.
