My son always has trouble with early morning labs if he doesn’t drink before the blood draw.  We have to drive over an hour to get to our lab as our endo insists that it is drawn at Childrens Hospital.  My son starts drinking a bottle of water or gatorade when we get in the car.  When he does this they can get the lab the first try.
