JenP, exactly that, you do not have anyone’s lives in your hands, these doctors are paid so well because they do. I am sorry to say I do not hold doctors as God’s there are a lot of them that go into medicine for the ego status. How many here on this board have run against arrogant doctors, one mum recently said she knows she was referred to as a pain in the a*** , why because she dared question. If you or I did not do our job properly we would not be paid or get fired. What about the parent who lost her child to CAH because the endo told her not to bother him anymore that night...... I am not saying that all doctors are like this, BUT why have a day ’Doctors Day’ for them?? Then we should have a Vets day....... and I could go on. In this world we all need each other we are all as important, if we had no mechanics who would fix our cars, they too hold our lives in their hands in a different way?
It is my humble opinion that we as parents/suffers need to educate ourselves about CAH, (hence this new book written by Carol and Dr Rivkees, is so great), so we in turn can educate doctors - especially ones with attitude problems. I am though very grateful to those doctors who care and listen and who are not afraid of being questioned.
