My daugther has had IVs three times. Twice she did not complain at all. I think if they are in just right then they do not hurt but if they are pressing or pulling skin that is when they will hurt. Sometimes it is hard to get them in so once done they are reluctant to redo them. If positioned properly they do not hurt. For little ones they wrap them well so it can’t be pulled off or played with.
