Endo switched us to Prednisone pills
Apr. 4th, 2006   1:28pm

Our endo switched Ashley (10 SWCAH) to prednisone.  It is the pills.  She has to take 0.25 in the am 0.5 in the afternoon and 0.5 at bedtime.  Don’t ask me the precise dosage I am at work and don’t have them with me.  But, he switched her because her levels have been way off for the last couple of months and her weight increased dramatically in the last two months.

He is hoping that the Prednisone will get her under control and he said that the side effect of weight gain is not as bad as with the dex.  He said any steroid taken over long periods of time will cause weight gain.

I’m just concerned about side effects.  It’s only been 3 days and so far so good.  We are also keeping a food journal so that when we see the Endo next month he can see what she is eating.  He seems to think that I feed her junk food all day long.  She eats like a bird.

Anyway, just thought I would let you all know.

Thanks,

Lisa V.
