Ditto what CKL and Rashmi have said. Seizures can be caused by low sodium levels (called "hyponatremia.") They can also be caused by low blood sugar levels (called "hypoglycemia.") Both hyponatremia and hypoglycemia are associated with untreated or inadequately treated CAH and, essentially, indicate that a person is suffering from adrenal crisis. If your child was ill when this happened, it could be that she needed more of a stress dose.

To CKL: Bravo to your pediatrician for being so well educated about CAH! It is wonderful to see a "generalist" who seems very "up" on recognizing symptoms of CAH and how to treat it!
