In my opinion, DEFINATELY. First sign of infection, nail it. When they are little it seems that get everything. My daughter suffered many sinus infections until she was about 5 and we had her adenoids out. They are little nobbie things in the back of your throat. Once we had that done, she was sinus free. She gets them once in a while now but not like she did. So if it gets consistant, I would check with an ear, nose and throat specialist. He could be suffering from allergies. As my daughter’s allergist put it. They are like this bucket of water with allergies. Example is my daughter. She has many allergie but her biggest is fall leaves. So you give her a season of fall leaves, and cat dander from the cat that is ancient we have, and dust allergy, and you got a full bucket. ADD a cold in that bucket that is already full, and what happens? The bucket overflows. Therefore giving her the asthma, sinus infectins ect. that has developed from her allergies and cold exposure. Not saying your child had allergies but it is a possibility IF he continues to get these in the future.

As far as the poor bottom that is sore, we use this miracle cream called, "Pink Salve" You can buy it over the counter at any drugstore. It is a miracle cream that clears up the WORST diaper rash. Trust me. Trust me. You will take stock in it when you discover this.

In the meantime, lots of liquids! LOTS to flush this infection out of his system. I also heard of using yogurt to replace the "good" bacteria in the lining of your intenstines that the antibiotics remove and give you the poops. OR the last time this happened to my daughter the ped. told us you can get this product over the counter that works the same way if your child cannot tollerate the yogurt. I don’t remember the name of it but I am SURE your ped. will.
