AimeeBraydensmomI am actually taking college chemistry this semester.
Chemistry is hard. There is no way around it. Whatever I think seems logical... it is the opposite answer to what I thought. But having said that.. once you learn the terms ( like learning a new language) and the rules.. it’s not so hard after all. The math involved in solving equations is not hard. The MATH is more basic than not but learning the rules is the key. For example right now my homework relates to Avogadro’s number (6.02 x 10 to the 23) and Moles and Molarity. If MgO weighs 12 grams how many moles are there? Some of these questions make ya want to bang your head against the wall... til you see it again knowing how to do it... knowing the lingo and the rules - then it is "easy". The great thing about chemistry is that the rules are the rules are the rules. Don’t try to figure out why - just do it.What’s fun about chemistry? The experiments. We get to play with stuff. Mix this with that and WOW look what happened. We get to play with bunsen burners and burn stuff up to see what’s left. It’s amazing to see how a bit more or less of one element can change the entire substance.
Cooking IS chemistry.
Chemistry is really the root of our sciences.
Take it. You can do it. Be prepared to read and reread the concepts.
Take advantage of any free tutoring. ( my college has math and science tutors)
It’s more about the definitions than the math.Susan
