re: re: Problems with weight in the first year too!

My nine-year-old daughter who has SWCAH, and has always been small for her age, until recently. She weighed only weighed 16 pounds at a year, and stayed on the same growth pattern until she was 7. She at least jumped unto the chart then, and has maintained a steady growth over the past two years. She is now in the 30th percentile for both height and weight. She still doesn’t have much of an appetite, but her Endo. said she thought it was common for CAH children to be smaller. They are walking the tightrope of balancing their cortisone levels constantly. She attributes her growth to her body responding positively to the treatment, almost like it is finally accepting it. I hope this may help ease some fears. It will all work out!
