ToniaHi all! Our poor Abby had to go to the ER yesterday. She was not tolerating her fever or breaking it. It was 104 plus and she was severely dehydrated and starting to go into adrenal crisis. Her electrolytes were starting to get whacky. She got her normal bolus IV and solucortef at the ER. When they discharged her, they told us not to give her cortef for 24 hours since she had solucortef at the ER. I have never heard this in my life! Abby will be 10 on Saturday and Ellie is 8 they both have sswcah and we’ve had our share of hospital trips and solucortef shots. Has anyone else heard not to give cortef to their child for 24 hours after getting a solucortef injection? I’ve called the endo to ask. And I have been giving her her cortef, she’s still running a fever of 102.
Thanks!
Blessings,
Tonia
